Metro “Destination Discounts” Program Overview:

 

Metro is interested in developing on going marketing and promotional relationships with key community

business partners to promote using public transportation in Los Angeles. Metro has developed a program

called Metro’s Destination Discount program to reward Metro patrons for using the Metro system as an

alternative to driving. Our Metro Destination Discount program was designed to market your business as

a key “Destination” to our Metro patrons when they use the Metro system.

 

 

 

How the program works is very simple… While Metro does not provide cash sponsorships we do provide

promotional advertising through in-kind trade opportunities by promoting your business to our Metro

patrons.. This is a very simple promotional trade partnership between your business and Metro (where

no money is exchanged); whereby Metro would promote (or advertise) your business to our Metro

patrons (Metro has 1.2 million daily customer boarding’s in our system) in our promotional & marketing

materials (at not cost to you) and in return your business would offer our Metro patrons some type of

a “Metro Destination Discount” opportunity at your business location when Metro patrons present their

Metro Pass or Metro Rail ticket.

 

How the Metro “Destination Discounts” Program works:

 

Metro would provide to your business free promotional advertising in designated Metro promotional

materials, which includes both print and on-line promotional materials and in return for doing this Metro

would ask that your business would offer Metro riders, who can show valid proof that they use or have

used the Metro system, with some type of Metro patron “Destination Discount”.

 

Metro offers both print and on line promotions to promote your business and your Destination Discount

to our Metro patrons. For our on line promotions we would provide your business with your own unique

webpage on our Destination Discount page to promote your business and your Destination Discount to

our customers and to all of the social media outlets which we link to daily. With your on-line promotion it

would include information about your business, your logo, your web address and photos of your business

which would be unique to your business on this webpage for as long as you would like to continue in the

program.

 

Metro’s marketing and promotional materials would promote your business to our Metro patrons as well

as to Metro’s almost 10,000 employees, our program has an estimated promotional value of between

$25,000-$50,000 depending on how long you are in the program and of course how many additional

promotional opportunities become available which would increase the value of your promotion and

visibility for your business.

 

Yes, it is as simple as that!

 

Metro has achieved great successes with driving business to our promotional business partners who

are currently participating in our “Destination Discount Program” and of course our Metro patrons love

the idea of receiving great discounts opportunities or rewards when they “Go Metro”; of course you will

always retain the right to refuse service to anyone of your choosing and leave the program at any time.

 

What would be involved with you becoming a partner with Metro and the “Destination

Discount “program:

 

It is simple..5 easy steps... The following is what you would need to provide to Metro:

 

1. Metro would need the name of your business and a short marketing or promotional description

about your business. (What you do, where you are located, your business hours and any

information that would attract patrons to come to your business).

 

 

 

2. Metro would need your business logo and any photos you many have of your business which

you can send to Metro (in jpeg format) to use on your webpage and in our print materials.

 

3.Metro would want a link to your business website to include on our website, for those who

would like to link to your website to receive more detailed information about your business.

 

4. Metro would also ask that you would include a link to Metro’s homepage on your webpage, with

a link to our Metro trip planner (metro.net) so people easily plan their trips to your destination

when using the Metro system. This usually works best on your parking or directions information

page on your website. I also suggest that you mention on your website that you offer discount

opportunities for Metro patron who provide proof that they use the Metro system.

 

5. Metro would need to know what you promotional discount would be for Metro patrons would

be when they present their Metro Rail ticket for Metro Pass upon purchase.

 

What Metro would provide to your business would be as follows “free promotional advertising” in the

following Metro marketing materials:

 

Metro will include your business on your own unique webpage on our Metro “Destination

Discount” webpage (which has thousands of hits per week).

 

We would provide promotional on-line webpage banners promoting your business to our

patrons and how easy it is to access your business when they “Go Metro”. Metro’s homepage

receives just under a million visits per month which is where your business rotating banner ad

would appear periodically throughout the year.

 

Metro will promote your business periodically (in our Metro blog which receives 25,000-30,000+

hits per week on a quarterly basis and include your business on our Destination Discount Google

map, which shows where your business is located in relationship to where our Metro stations are

located.

 

Periodically we would include your business in our 85,000 Metro Monthly brochures which

are distributed on board our Metro buses and trains and is e-blasted out to 1,500 corporate

businesses in LA County.

 

Metro would promote your business to our 10,000 Metro employees.

 

Other opportunities may become available to promote your business in other print publications

as they become available (currently we would be interested in promoting your business to

the over 200,000+ Metro patrons that take the shuttle service from Union Station to Dodger

Stadium as a place to grab a snake before or after the game, which is close to our Metro

stations).
